Application scheduling on OpenStack
OpenStack is a solid platform for IaaS that has gained a lot of traction recently. However, it needs to be more friendly to app developers who would like to focus on the workload than the infrastructure or its orchestration. Thus there is a need for app developers to specify what they need in terms of infrastructure in a declarative fashion, while another layer translates the requirement into primitives understood by IaaS platforms like OpenStack. In this talk, we will present the key concepts behind Donabe, an app container service on top of OpenStack and show how it could be realized by leveraging components from existing open source projects.
