Strong research background, graduated (PhD) from CCLS, Queen Mary University of London. The focus of Michaela's research has been mainly the legal effects of new transformative technologies. She worked on two Microsoft-funded research projects: analysing the legal nature of Open Source licenses in 2010 and exploring the legal and regulatory implications of cloud computing in 2012, at CCLS, London. Diverse teaching experience on undergraduate, LLM and distance learning level covering subjects such as Intellectual Property, Information Security and Internet Regulation law, as well as EU law. International legal experience, including assessing the impact of new legislation, preparing case notes and contract revisions. She was awarded internship with an international law firm in Vienna, focusing on IP law and employment law in 2007 and worked with a criminal barrister in London in 2008.
